Getting Started
Do I need a real estate license before I join KAIZEN?
Yes. You need an active real estate license to join the brokerage. If you haven’t started yet, begin your pre-licensing course at kaizen.theceshop.com and use coupon code KAIZEN for a special discount. You’re welcome to talk with our broker before you enroll.
How soon can I start working?
After you pass your exam, KAIZEN sponsors your license application, and the state typically issues your license within 3–5 business days. Once your license is active and your enrollment is complete, your website, CRM, and tools are usually activated the same day, and your broker will help you plan your first 90 days.
Can I start real estate part-time?
Many agents begin part-time while they build their business. Talk with our broker about your schedule and goals so we can map out a plan that works for you.
Do I need sales experience to succeed?
No. Many successful agents start with no sales background. Our broker mentorship, hands-on training, and ZEN support are built for exactly that.
What’s the difference between a real estate agent and a Realtor®?
A real estate agent is anyone licensed to help people buy and sell property. A Realtor® is a licensed agent who is also a member of the National Association of Realtors® and agrees to its Code of Ethics. Every KAIZEN agent is a Realtor®.
What training and support will I get as a new agent?
You’ll follow our 90-Day New Agent Success Plan, with contract and closing classes, Paragon, Flex MLS and BoldTrail training, broker-led ZEN sessions, and a lead generation video library. You also get a broker who picks up the phone, a private ZEN Facebook group, and on-call agents who can help when you’re tied up.
What’s included when I join?
Every plan includes $1M E&O insurance, e-signing, an AI-powered CRM, Lead Engine and marketing tools, an IDX website and mobile app, yard signs, a name badge and business cards. You also get office access with workstations, free copying and printing, coffee and drinks, ZEN Rewards, and the KAIZEN Agent Intranet.
Commission, Costs & Support
How does the 75/25 mentorship split work?
On your first three closings, you keep 75% of your commission and 25% goes to KAIZEN to fund your broker mentoring and training. Starting with your fourth closing, you’re a 100% commission agent.
What plan am I on after my first three closings?
You move to our Gold Plan: 100% commission, $149 a month, and $399 per closing, with transaction fees capped after 12 closings a year. Once you’ve closed 6 or more transactions in 12 months, you can choose our Free Plan ($0 a month, $599 per closing). You can change plans once a year.
What does it cost to get started?
KAIZEN’s enrollment is $250 at signup and $250 each December 1. You’ll also pay dues to your local Realtor® association and MLS, which are separate from KAIZEN’s fees. Pre-licensing course and state exam fees are separate as well.
Why do I have to join a Realtor® association and MLS?
All KAIZEN agents must belong to a Realtor® association to be associated with the brokerage. Membership gives you MLS access to list and search homes, the right to use the Realtor® designation, and the forms and resources you’ll use every day. Our broker will walk you through the costs for your area.
Does KAIZEN give new agents leads?
KAIZEN doesn’t promise leads, but you’ll have access to our lead and referral partner network, marketing automation, and training on building your own pipeline, so you can create business from day one.
What is the admin fee, and do I have to charge it?
It’s optional. Once you move to a 100% commission plan, starting with your fourth closing, you can charge your client an admin fee that covers your KAIZEN transaction fee, so your commission stays whole. Whether you charge it is always your choice. The admin fee doesn’t apply during your three 75/25 mentorship closings.
